Asthma
A disease of the bronchial tubes, asthma is characterized by labored and difficult breathing. A typical asthma attack may last between a few minutes to a few days. The frequency of the attacks varies greatly as well as the duration and intensity which can range from occasional wheezing with slight breathing impairment to a severe attack that borders on suffocation.
Allergy is the main cause of asthma and the condition will often improve once the offending substance is removed. A child should be tested for allergic sensitivity first in all asthma cases. A doctor can relieve the child considerably if you follow his advice but there is no complete cure for this disease.
